Giving Back to the City That's Backed Us for 13+ Years
At Terrance Private Investigator & Associates, our work has always been about helping people. Most folks know us for investigations, surveillance, and finding answers — but giving back to the community is just as important to us as any case we close.
This Thanksgiving, our annual Houston turkey drive was a bigger success than we could have hoped for. We were honored to help provide more than 100 turkeys to families across Houston, along with barbecue meals, pies, cakes, and cupcakes to help make the holiday season a little brighter for folks who needed it.
Why a Houston Turkey Drive Matters
The holidays are hard for a lot of families. Rising food costs, financial hardship, job loss, unexpected medical bills, a lease that didn’t renew — there are a hundred ways a year can go sideways before November rolls around. By the time Thanksgiving hits, sitting down to a traditional holiday meal isn’t a guarantee for everyone. For some families, it’s not even close.
That’s the gap our Houston turkey drive is built to fill. After 17+ years working cases across all 50 states, we’ve seen up close how quickly a family’s situation can change. We’ve worked enough custody cases, asset searches, and missing persons cases in this city to know that behind every case file is a household trying to hold things together. The turkey drive is one of the ways we say we see you.
Our goal this year was simple. We wanted to help families enjoy a warm holiday meal, give back to the city that’s supported our firm since 2012, bring neighbors together during a season that can feel isolating for too many people, and make a positive impact that goes beyond the investigative work we’re known for.
Seeing the smiles, the gratitude, and the support from the community reminded us why these events matter so much. A turkey is just a turkey on its own. But a turkey, plus a hot barbecue plate, plus a pie for the table, plus the simple feeling that somebody in your city showed up for you — that’s a holiday.
More Than Investigations

Houston has supported our company for over a decade, and our annual community outreach is one of the ways we show that we don’t take that support for granted. The license on the wall says we’re allowed to operate here. The turkey drive is part of how we earn it.
A Community Effort, Not a Solo Act
A Houston turkey drive at this scale doesn’t happen with one phone call. This event was the result of weeks of coordination — sourcing the turkeys, lining up the barbecue, organizing the bakery contributions, mapping distribution, and getting volunteers in position on the day. It would not have been possible without everyone who contributed their time, money, and effort to make it work.
From the folks who organized food distribution, to the volunteers who prepared meals, to the donors who made sure no family walked away empty-handed, this was a team effort. We are genuinely grateful for every person who showed up to help, and for every family who trusted us enough to accept support during a tough season. That trust isn’t a small thing.
Looking Ahead
Our annual Houston turkey drive keeps growing every year, and we’re already planning how to feed even more families next Thanksgiving. The need isn’t going away — if anything, it’s getting harder for working families to make ends meet — and we plan to keep showing up for as long as Houston keeps showing up for us.
