By accessing the website at piterrance.com or engaging the services of Terrance Private Investigator and Associates (“Terrance PI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or our services.
2. Services
Terrance PI is a licensed private investigation agency operating in compliance with the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau regulations and all applicable state and federal laws. Our services include but are not limited to surveillance investigations, infidelity investigations, child custody investigations, background checks, asset searches, missing person investigations, GPS tracker detection, criminal defense investigations, process serving, and wellness checks.
All investigations are conducted within the boundaries of Texas law and applicable federal statutes. Terrance PI does not engage in any illegal investigative methods, including unauthorized access to private communications, trespassing on private property, or any activity that violates state or federal wiretapping laws.
3. Client Engagement and Retainer
All services require a signed engagement agreement and payment of a retainer prior to any investigative work beginning. The retainer is applied toward the total cost of the investigation. Terrance PI will provide a written scope of work and cost estimate before any work commences. There are no hidden fees. Costs beyond the initial retainer will be communicated to the client before additional charges are incurred.
4. Payment Terms
All payments are due in accordance with the terms outlined in your individual engagement agreement. Terrance PI accepts payment by major credit and debit cards processed securely through Stripe. Retainers are non-refundable once investigative work has commenced. Unused retainer funds will be returned to the client upon written request if no work has been initiated.
5. Confidentiality
Terrance PI treats all client information, case details, and investigation findings as strictly confidential. We do not disclose the identity of clients, the nature of any investigation, or any case findings to third parties without the client’s express written consent, except where required by law or court order. Clients are also expected to maintain confidentiality regarding the methods, timing, and scope of any active investigation. Disclosure of investigation details by the client to the subject of the investigation may compromise results and will not entitle the client to a refund.
6. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information at the time of engagement. Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information that affects the outcome of an investigation does not entitle the client to a refund. Clients must ensure that their use of investigation findings complies with all applicable laws. Terrance PI is not responsible for how clients use legally gathered evidence.
7. Limitation of Liability
Terrance PI makes no guarantee as to the outcome of any investigation. We cannot guarantee that evidence of any particular activity will be found, or that a case will be resolved in the client’s favor. Our liability is limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific service in question. Terrance PI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or reliance on investigation findings.
8. Evidence and Court Use
All evidence gathered by Terrance PI is collected using legal methods and is prepared with professional documentation including timestamps, chain of custody records, and investigator reports. While Terrance PI prepares evidence with court use in mind, we make no guarantee as to the admissibility of any evidence in any specific legal proceeding. Clients are advised to consult with a licensed Texas attorney regarding the use of investigation findings in legal matters.
