She Had Questions About Her Daughter's Custody Periods. Our Dallas Child Custody Investigation Team Found Answers

A Dallas mother came to us with genuine concerns about what was happening during her daughter’s scheduled time with the other parent. She had questions about custody compliance, the people her daughter was around, and behaviors she could not fully explain. What she needed was not an opinion. She needed a documented, factual record she could put in front of her attorney.

She retained Terrance Private Investigator and Associates to conduct licensed surveillance across four scheduled custody days in June 2026. Our team was tasked with documenting child exchanges, verifying the subject’s residence, observing the child’s care and supervision, identifying any third-party involvement, and establishing a clear timeline of movements throughout the custody period. What followed was four days of field work that produced exactly what she came to us for.

The Problem

Concerns Without Documentation Are Just Words in a Family Court.

In child custody matters, the gap between what a parent suspects and what they can prove is often the difference between an outcome they can live with and one they cannot. Our client had real concerns built up over time from patterns she had noticed and behaviors she could not fully account for. She did not have a complete picture of what her daughter’s time with the other parent actually looked like.

Family courts operate on evidence. A parent’s worry, however legitimate, does not carry the same weight as a timestamped account of what a licensed investigator observed in the field. That is the reality of how custody proceedings work, and why a professional investigation is often the most important step a parent can take when they have serious questions about their child’s welfare.

The Investigation

Four Days in Dallas. Every Movement Documented. Every Adjustment Made in the Field.

Our Dallas child custody investigation began with investigators positioned ahead of a scheduled custody exchange. The subject arrived on time and the exchange was documented. The subject and his daughter were later observed exiting a residential complex in east Dallas. An unidentified vehicle arrived at the property and the driver could not be confirmed. During mobile surveillance our investigators observed behavior consistent with counter-surveillance awareness and transitioned to a stationary posture to protect the operation.

The second day confirmed the same unidentified vehicle at the residence. Severe weather temporarily suspended operations for safety. Surveillance resumed when conditions permitted.

On the third day the subject and his daughter departed the complex and traveled to a second Dallas location. Visibility temporarily limited confirmation of the child in the vehicle. By mid-afternoon the child was positively identified with the subject. Our client advised that the subject’s vehicle contained front and rear-facing cameras and an unidentified flat device on the console, which our investigators incorporated into the tactical approach.

The fourth day the pair traveled to a gymnastics facility and a recreational venue before returning to the residence. That afternoon the subject escorted the child to a residential drop-off location, made a retail stop, and returned to the apartment complex with the child. Surveillance concluded that evening.

The Breakthrough

The Pattern Was the Point. Four Days Built the Record

In our experience, the most valuable product of a child custody investigation is rarely a single dramatic moment. It is the documented pattern observed consistently across multiple days. What our investigators built over four days in Dallas was exactly that: a timestamped account of the subject’s movements, the child’s supervision, and the interactions that occurred.

The counter-surveillance behavior on day one required real-time tactical adjustment and confirmed the subject had some awareness of being observed. That was documented and incorporated into the record for our client and her legal team. The unidentified vehicle at the residence on multiple days was recorded with sufficient detail to support follow-up inquiry if needed.

The Results

Our Dallas Child Custody Investigation Delivered Four Days of Facts. A Record the Attorney Can Actually Use.

The four-day operation produced a comprehensive, documented account of the subject’s activities, movements, child care, and interactions during the custody period. The child was consistently observed in the subject’s care across multiple documented outings in the Dallas area.

No evidence of unsafe conduct, neglect, or behavior placing the child at immediate risk was observed during the surveillance period. Our investigators documented what they saw without editorializing and without drawing conclusions the evidence did not support. The record, including timestamped observations, photographic evidence where conditions permitted, and a detailed activity timeline, was delivered to our client for use with her legal team.

She came to us with questions. She left with a documented record. At Terrance Private Investigator and Associates, every Dallas child custody investigation follows the same standard. We observe. We document. We deliver.

Clarity begins with facts, not assumptions.
