Is Surveillance Legal in Texas?
Yes, when it is conducted properly, and the boundaries are clearer than most people expect.
Surveillance from public places, where there is no reasonable expectation of privacy, is lawful in Texas when performed by a licensed private investigator. Observing a vehicle leave a driveway, following it on public roads, documenting who enters a building, and recording activity visible from a public street all sit inside that boundary. Most people assume surveillance is about equipment. It is mostly about preparation, and this is the part that separates a productive operation from an expensive one.
Pre-surveillance research. Before anyone deploys, we verify the address is current, confirm the vehicle, and identify the exits. An investigator who arrives without this burns your hours establishing what could have been established from a desk.
Timing built around the subject, not the clock. Surveillance scheduled in convenient eight-hour blocks produces convenient invoices and very little else. We work the windows where activity is actually likely, even when that means a four-hour session on a Tuesday evening rather than a full day on Friday.
Terrain that gets studied first. A cul-de-sac, a gated community, a rural road, and a downtown garage each demand a completely different approach. Knowing which one you are walking into before you arrive determines whether a position is holdable.
The right number of investigators. One unit can be lost or burned in heavy traffic or at a location with several exits. Two units cost more per hour and frequently cost less overall, because the operation produces something.

What You Receive
Surveillance is only worth what you can actually use afterward.
Every case closes with a written investigative report. It states the scope, the dates and hours worked, and a chronological log of observed activity with times, locations, durations, and descriptions. The video and photographs are indexed against that log, so any entry can be verified against footage in seconds rather than scrubbed for.
Vehicles are identified by make, model, and plate where visible. Third parties are described as observed and identified where lawful research supports it.
The report also records the sessions where nothing of note occurred. That is not filler. A record showing continuous coverage across a period is considerably stronger than a highlight reel, and it is what holds up when someone asks what else was going on.

How We Stay Undetected
This is the question every client asks, and it deserves a real answer rather than a promise.
Unmarked vehicles, rotated. Nothing branded, nothing memorable, and not the same vehicle sitting in the same spot across consecutive sessions. Repetition is what gets noticed, not proximity.
Distance and equipment over closeness. Long-lens documentation means an investigator can work from a position that reads as unremarkable rather than one that requires being near the subject.
